- Abstract:
- The main purpose of this paper is the presentation of a new computer modeling investigating the spatial distribution and amplitude dependence of the harmonic distortion occurring at large vibration amplitudes of clamped-clamped beams. The spatial distribution of the response higher harmonics is theoretically examined. A theoretical model, based on a new approach has been developed and proposed to calculate the contribution of spatially distributed and amplitude dependent higher harmonics in the non-linear response of clamped-clamped beams. The set of non-linear differential equations obtained by this formulation has been solved numerically, and solutions obtained appear to be in good agreement with previously published experimental results.
