Abstract:

Web mining is majorly focused on learning about web user with their communication with web sites and application of web to extract knowledge from World Wide Web i.e. WWW. Web mining is a group of data mining. In order to reduce a “Data Rich but Information Poor” dilemma, Data Mining emerged. Web Mining is a variation of this field that distils untapped source of abundantly available free textual information. The significance of web mining is growing along with the massive volumes of data generated in web day-to-day life. The motive of web mining is to find user’s object automatically and promptly from the huge web log data such as frequent access paths, frequent access groups and clustering of data. This article provides a survey and analysis of current web mining system and technologies. There are three broad category in web mining (i) web usage mining (ii) web content mining, (iii) web structure mining. Web usage mining, performs six major task data gathering, data preparation, navigation pattern discovery, patter analysis, pattern visualization and pattern application.
